Model United Nations
Helping build leaders!
Model United Nations is the most popular competitive non-sport extracurricular program in North America. It is a form of competitive public speaking and negotiation where the competitors, known as “delegates”, simulate nations advancing policy at the United Nations. Delegates can compete at conferences across the world, where they represent the interests of their assigned nation in a committee focussing on a particular set of world issues.
Areas of Focus (Class Activities):
• Committee Simulations: Simulate nations advancing policy at the UN
• Independent Research: Research stimulating international issues and regional histories
• Results Based Debate: Effectively persuade other delegates in their committee
